Rock Squirrels

In the Ft.Davis State Park are a family of Rock Squirrels . Some people call them Little Foxes but that is wrong . They are comparable to the Gray Squirrel but the tails are skinner , and the fur on the back is marked different . There are a few other characteristics different but I can't name them all . Thanks for the comment ! Yes i thought so too , actually that one was more curious about what i was doing that at one point he would jump up with tail sticking up then jump back like it was hiding and just do this back and forth several times . The others just kind of sit back and watched to see what it was doing :) .

In our area, known as "damn-eeps" because our leashed dogs go crazy when they hear the eep-eep! Makes it dangerous hiking on nearby south facing rocky slopes.
