We have all seen the custom painted nifty fifties, lens hoods, or the worst--sharpied 100-400s. But this photographer has taken custom paint jobs to a whole new level. I'd have to say he did a fantastic job, even though he shoots Nikon ;)

Still doesn't look good, except for safari camo.

it's just Nikon stuff, an old paint brush and some flat latex room paint would make it look better

looks like he did a great job. i don't get the hater comments... he clearly chose the color/paint type to suit his needs, not for looks. and even then, they still came out nice and even and look like they mean business.

General worthless internet cynicism.

I saw this awhile back and dug it. Nice result and the material sounds interesting after given the max amount of setting time.

Negative criticism is always the first to surface in life .
I agree that he chose the perfect color, it really takes a person who has traveled to the Middle East or surrounding areas to realize just how colorless and neutral everything is. It doesn't matter what it looks like, just that it achieves the desired function.

I'm impressed with how much prep time he took in masking the equipment vs. disassembling. It makes sense for his use but that's a pretty huge undertaking of a project.

I'll give him an A+ for his efforts. Not crazy about the color but it may be perfect as camo in Lebanon.

Now, If Canon would only follow his lead and at least offer a black option to their white lens'. I have several Ls but only one white one - 100-400. I would prefer it in black. And, no, I am not taking a Sharpie to it.

I love it. Anything that looks mil-spec is sexy to me. Especially camera gear.

I actually like it. Too much effort for me though. I like that he did the flash as well as the camera and lenses. Should make his equipment easy to identify if lost or stolen also!

If you bought the equipment its yours to do with as you please. Obviously it suits his needs so it doesn't matter what others think. Customization should be for yourself and if others like it its a bonus

Looks really cool, and should work well in the middle eastern deserts.

I wouldn't do it but it doesn't look bad, just not what I'd want. But I'll gladly accept if they want to gift it. :D
