Hello,

I have had my T4i for almost a year and it's been fine. Shot a friends wedding recently and everything seemed fine, but right now I decided to take a few shots and the picture is taking a long time to display on the LCD screen. I popped in my other SD card and it seems faster, but not like it used to be.

Both cards are SanDisk Ultras and the one that is taking longer is a 32 GB that is almost full.

EDIT: Tried it again and the red light on the bottom right corner does not turn off, so I tried my other SD card and the light is off. Put the 32GB in and the light stays on again. Tried it on my brothers T2i, but there was no light on his. I tried it again on mine and the light was on again, but after a few minutes it finally decided to turn off. I did a low level format anyways, so that doesn't happen again. I still would like to know what happened though.

Thank you!!

I would move the data off that card and then format the card in the camera.

That happens to me every once in a while with my 5D II. It's a little annoying, but I hit the display button and the picture shows up on the LCD. However, the write light turns off like it's supposed to when it finishes writing to the card.

Yeah, I assume the write light was on because of the card. It only did it to my 32 gb and not my 8 gb card for some reason, so I'm sure it has to do with the card. I just don't know why.

Thank you!!

It's sometimes the camera trying to build/maintain the file index, when the card is almost full and it is a larger capacity card, it takes it a long time to read all of the file information, build thumbnails, etc.

I get longer write times and image display only when my card starts to fill up. If I've been shooting RAW for a few hours and have hundreds of images, it takes longer. I don't worry about it, I know why it is slowing down ;)

I try to never go beyond 70% on my 32G cards but will go to 90% on my 16G cards. I back up the data on them when downloading and then Low Level Format the card in the Camera if that option is available, elsewise just Format the card. This is the only way to get the file structure back to ground zero. Deleting photos on the cards is the wrong way to free up memory. Yes as the cards get bigger, other issues begin to surface like long wait times to display pictures.

Keep shooting till it looks Great!
