Barn spider at night

This beauty has been building its web in the same spot in our garden every night.
Sometimes it lets me get close with the camera and a flashlight.
No camera flash though.

Ewwww i hate spiders but must say nice shots. as long as they are on screen and not near me its ok to look at...LOL

I know what you mean!
For the first couple of nights it left the web as soon as I got too close, but with the help of a remote shutter it was much calmer the last night, when i finally had enough time to set up and capture a few shots.
I was born and raised in Brazil, where spiders smaller than this can kill, and I've seen my share of really scary ones, so after reading about barn spider habits I was less icky.
They are largely misunderstood little creatures.
