That's impressive for the 70-300. I knew it was a good lens, but didn't know it was that good.

Nice as far as number two go back and try again, want to see all four hoofs off the ground. I know
you didn't go there just to use the camera. Make any money?

That lens surprises me every time I use it. It really came alive with my 6D. Thanks!

Here you go! Almost all 4 on the ground. Unfortunately, left the track a loser. :(

The 70-300 IS USM AF was tough to work with since the action is so fast. I only had a few seconds before they blew past me.

Or all 4 hoofs in the air!

Nice shots. Horse races and a camera were made for each other. Action is certainly fast. They are traveling at least 30 MPH which is 44 ft/sec.

Again Nice! You did nail the four hoofs off the ground and the muscle tone on the horses is unbelievable. Now go back and make some money.

What settings were you using? Looks like your shutter speed was too slow. I've done a lot of this and I typically shoot at 1/1600 at f4. If the lens went take that bump up the ISO.

Also the color looks a little off on most of them...did you PS them?

Gary

I just spent a few minutes on this one....brightness, hue, vibrance, sharpening. And then cropped out all the background so my eyes focus in on the movement of the horse and not the starting gate. Hope you don't mind:)

This was my first time at the tracks with a camera. No PS and ooc jpg, just did some brightness real quick in Picasa.

I shot in TV with shutter at 1/1000 which I realize now it was too slow after viewing on the monitor. I set the picture style to landscape to bring some punch to the colors. Increased sharpness, saturation, and contract a few notches in the landscape PS.
