roseyposey Cream of the Crop More info | Oct 04, 2016 01:02 | #15339 Hey everyone - off topic, but just wondering about what you think about this laptop? I've got a very good desk top, but am hoping to get about a bit more, as I head into some form of semi retirement, so want to get a lap top, so I can edit on the go ... so to speak. The computer doesn't look like it allows much expansion. Apparently 8GB is the max memory and it only has one drive bay. In my opinion, this machine would be a fine secondary machine, but would not be a good primary computer at all. At a minimum, for a photographic computer I would want a SSD and a 1 TB or larger second drive. With only one 256GB SSD you would soon be required to use a USB 3 external hard drive. Working off of an external drive is an option, but an internal drive would be faster. Philip

Oct 04, 2016 20:50 | #15344 A photo from my trip last week to the mountains. The place is just lousy with photographers at this time of year, you can't walk 10 feet without bumping into one. Below the mountain is a shot of a 4 by 5 view camera, ran into a fellow using it in the meadow where that first picture was taken, beautiful thing, but looked like a real chore to use, and about 10 dollars per sheet of film. I don't go away that often, so don't want to spend megabucks as everything is made obsolete so quickly ... Thanks. Olympus M1 MkII, Olympus M5 MkIII: Lenses covering 8 - 300mm
