Aratiatia Dam and gates before the gates were opened.

Arataitia Power station - down river from the dam, from the smae viewing spot as previous. Some Lord of the Rings scenes were filmed in this area.

Love the Huka Falls photo ..... and your pano photo, Rose.

The Fall colours (spelling in honour of Will ! ) :lol: won't peak for another week or so, but this is the current view of a portion of my meadow at the getaway property. I didn't increase the saturation during processing .... this is just the way it looks, and it'll only get better !

There was an article in todays paper about these beacons at Westshore, and the need to restore them, so I went over to photograph them. With the Tamron 90 f/2.8 macro, which I often use as a prime.

I've just read an autobiography of iconic NZ photographer Marti Friedlander. She was actually born in London of Jewish refugees, and came to NZ as a young adult. Some of her photography is just amazing! She shot in film back then of course, and black and white and developed in her own dark room. Because of her I decided to try a B & W conversion:
