Wow I sure did miss that, maybe provide a link for that issue.

I am however aware that some 70D owners report that when coupled with some STM lenses, there are cases where underexposure can occur when bouncing flash.
I am one of them, at least on my previous 70D, will eventually test my new one sooner than later.

I have never heard of the issue that you report. If yours is under warranty I would get that looked into.

I purchased my 70D directly from Canon in August 2014. I really have not used it as much as I would have liked and the other day I pulled it out to take some photos of the construction work laying a new commuter rail line in my neighborhood. I charged my Canon batteries the day before and put them in the camera right before I was to walk the four blocks to the site. Much to my surprise my camera would not power up. I switched batteries and even tried the ACK adapter and nothing. So off to Canon and now it is a $450 dollar repair bill. i've never had such a big an issue with a Canon body before and I started out with an EOS 650 the first year it came out. I have owned at least six EOS film bodies and six EOS digital bodies over the years. The only other issue ever was a loosened hot shoe on my 650 and that was an easy fix. It is important to note that my shutter count is less than 3000 on this camera. Has anyone else had an issue with their 70D?

This tiny ladybird larva had something attached to its head - I assume a parasite of some sort. The larva is just about 4mm long so the orange living thing must be pretty small, lol..

Taken on the Venus 60mm (external link) on the 70D.

The greenery is getting lush and colourful after the recent rains, and that sometimes means green bugs!

This evening's walk at Clive with the dog. With the Tokina 11 - 16 f/2.8. Love this lens :-)

But did you miss the 70D's inability to ETTL with a hotshoe flash?

Just to clarify for current and future 70D owners, the above statement describes the issue inaccurately.

I refer to the real 'ETTL underexposure bounce-flash' issue experienced by some users below (and in previous posts):

I did briefly Rose, I looked at several models, even the T6s but I really needed two main criteria as a 2nd camera - focus microadjustment and the flippity screen at a good price. A used 70D was the only option to me, and I'm happy ~

Thanks, missed that you mentioned the 'bounce' part and I omitted 'bounce' from my response. Sadly my camera does suffer from that issue.

Nice couple of autumn days so making the most of it being dry and mild. With the Canon 50 f/1.8 STM - great value for money lens this.

Me again - great light when I got to the coast! These with the Tokina 11 - 16 f/2,8, ideally suited to these kinds of shots, when you want to cover the sky.

I was standing on a concrete groyne looking into this, it seemed remarkably deep, not sure if photo captures that.
