How does this squirrel differ from the white squirrels up in Brevard NC? Just curious how one could tell the difference.

Philip, I don't know that you can tell the difference. This one is in a local park and we have three different ones that visit our yard. The three in our yard have distinctive markings different from each other.

Don't feel any need to. Had my 70D out on the lake today with my Sigma 100-400mm and it performed just fine. It has served me well and rides in my truck all the time.

I've literally just upgraded my 40D to a 70D and already surprised at how much newer / better it feels.

I think the R7 will be my next move but will be a couple of years yet!

The 70D is still a great camera. I hope that you enjoy it !

Cheers, just trying to get used to having three focus modes over one that the 40D had! Taking a bit of getting used to!

There's a bigger difference in image quality between the 70d and 80d - if you're doing a lot of lower light/cloud day work in that 400-1600 ISO range, it's a solid 2/3rds of a stop upgrade. The 90d is maybe another 1/3rd from there with more resolution, but, much much much much much pickier when it comes to lens selection/technique/proper exposure.

For the 70d, I'd strongly recommend using topaz denoise - give the trial a run!
