Gerry...you did your editing where? LR or Camera RAW? PS? Something else?

As you can see from my signature, I use Linux as my Operating System.

I use GIMP (the Linux equivalent to PhotoShop) as a pixel editor. It is free and available for Windows and MacOS at the GIMP site.

If you choose to include a GIMP plugin called Ufraw, you can start from a RAW file, do some rudimentary Post Processing in Ufraw (WB, Exposure, Contrast, Gamma etc) including some NR and then move on to editing the PP'ed JPEG in GIMP (seamlessly).

The heavy duty RAW post-processing program in Linux is Darktable (similar to LR) which offers a tremendous variety of tools for PP (4 different ways to do NR for example). Unfortunately, as far as I know, it is available only for Linux.

35mm f/2 IS

i sold my 35L because i didn't care for the focal length. went everything between 35 and 200 after that ... now i'm back to the 35mm f/2 IS ... which i still don't like on FF.
so i put it on the 70D. bam! love it.

70D/35 f/2 IS advantage over the 7D/35L that i had before (for me specifically)
-i can set a min. shutter speed, which means 1/60 + IS ... no more shaky hands factor for me. before, i had to set 1/125 which killed a stop of ISO for me.
-smaller, shorter, better balance

i think i'm gonna love this combo ... enough to leave the 5D3 at home for those single camera days.

Its good to see what others can do with your photos.
It lets you see the post processing CAN be very important to save a shot.

Im not there yet (low light) but Makis (Gerry) this stuff nailed down.

Maybe I need to go back to using Linux as my main OS again .... after I was given PS CS2 a few years ago I went back to Windows, but as time goes on, and I near retirement, and my awareness grows that I won't be able to afford to continually upgrade, I wonder more and more about Linux.

Hoped for a calm day to go for a bike ride, but it was extremely windy, so took the old dog and camera out to Haumoana and Te Awanga.

Zero gravity fishing! Couldn't resist this .... I have one of these chairs at home - they are very cheap and very comfortable!!
