gabebalazs: amazing shots!!!

What Teleconverter are you using? what aperture is maximum for AF to work properly?

thanks :)

I´am already sick of all these low resolution high iso pictures, which tells nothing about camera performance, so i decided to post link to another full res SOOC RAW picture to get picture, how 70D can handle the noise.

Hello, my name's Fabrizio and I am new to the forum but have been reading your comments about the new Canon 70D for a couple of months.
Ten days ago I made up my mind and bought a 70D. So far I'm very satisfied with it and today I'll probably go for trying it durino a walk in the snow.

I just wanted to ask what kind of SD card you would go for if you head to buy one considering that I'd also like to shoot videos and I already own a 16gb SD card.

Thanks in advance.

Fabrizio

I have the 32GB SanDisk Extreme 80 MB/s. Got it on sale at Best Buy for $33... Scored big time! Anyways it works great! Never even came close to using all of it. Perfect for this camera. Im guessing recording at 1080 30fps, you will probably get about 4 hours of record time. That is just a straight guess so don't take it as an exact number!

The brickcroft has a couple of resident swans - this one came for look to see no doubt if I was offering food. I was only offering a chance to be immortalised digitally...

Thanks Lukas. I use Sigma's APO EX DG teleconverters, 1.4x or 2x depending on the distance.

My Sigma is a 168-420mm f/4 lens with the 1.4x, and a 240-600mm f/5.6 with the 2x tc. So AF is never a problem with this lens.

Bon giorno Fabrizio, welcome to the forum.

I would suggest buying a 45MB/s UHS-I card from Sandisk, (Sandisk Extreme, UHS-I, 45MB/s)
Or a Sony, but from Sony I'd recommend a 94MB/s card. The Sony's speed rating is read speed, its write speed is only about half that. It's a red and black card, I have a couple of those and they're good and fairly cheap.

I would not recommend buying the fastest possible card since the 70D cannot write data faster than about 45-50MB/s so a 94MB/s write speed card would be unnecessary. So an expensive Sandisk Extreme Pro would be overkill for the 70D.

Transcend also make very good cards. I have a 32GB Transcend UHS-I card that is pretty fast and I can recommend that too.

I don't work for Dish but I thought this turned out to be somewhat interesting for just walking out my back door and taking a picture of something on my roof.

My fingers have never been so so cold...so cold they screamed in pain....I now have serious respect for the eagle shooters. Dont be too critical, still figuring out this BIF thing:

Holy crap dude! bw!

I assume you're doing a simple sharpening mask for the birds and noise reduction mask for the out of focus areas?

To be fair though, these would look pretty amazing even without any PP work.
