Lens was 500/4 & 1.4x II

Man these last pics posted are wonderful. If I had that goose shot I'd have to CS6 a Moon into it (just teasing)....these pics tell me that BIFs will someday have to be a goal, and yet another round of purchases to get there....so in anticipation of the future and BIF, what will I need?

well Keyan, myself, and surely others would vouch for the 70-300L IS.
The 100-400L IS although old - is still very popular...

That would be an Argiope aurantia, a.k.a. black and yellow garden spider, writing spider, or corn spider.

They look quite fearsome, but they are just one of many orbweavers that do a good job of looking fierce while consuming insects.
