Nice action shot Dave
How do you find the 70D handles tracking fast moving subjects?
I'm thinking of buying one & i mainly shoot motorsport & the odd landscape
So far I haven't seen too many shots of this kind
Thanks
Pete
Thanks.
It tracks things just fine.
This shot I believe I was in one shot mode.
There were signs both behind and in front of these guys jumping the road.
A little more set up to this, these guys were probably 75 yards away.
Because of the signs, I would more or less pre focus on them before they got to the
first set of signs, then let up on the shutter to wait for the right moment.
Then I would press the shutter again to take the shot after they were by the signs and over (literally) the road.
I did some shots of gulls flying with the Sigma 120-300 with a 2X tc.
At 600mm, a gull is moving plenty fast. The camera did fine on those shots also.
I have to add that when I use/used my older cameras with just the 9 point focusing system,
I rarely missed shots because the focusing was to slow.
If I missed shots it was because of poor planning of the shot on my part.
These cameras today can do things that people could only dream of 20 years ago.
I actually like the nine point system better. There were less things to set up, and that
meant less that I could screw up.
Give me a 9 point system that would take 7-8 frames per second, with a 20 mp sensor,
and I'd be a happy guy.
