MedicineMan4040 The Magic Johnson of Cameras More info | May 19, 2014 04:29 | #5465 Lukas that is the most beautiful pigeon shot I have ever seen, it really gives a wonderful view of this bird. I just got back from 3 days of backpacking but before I left I did get a semi-decent macro and that is why I bought the 70D in the first place. I"m sure critics will slam this one but honestly I was quite pleased: flickr

frozenframe Goldmember More info | May 19, 2014 05:16 | #5467 Wow, what a magnificent BIF shot Lukas. I noticed that you used the Tammy 70-300. I've been trying to get some BIF shots, but so far no keepers. Most of the birds around my house are the small finches, sparrows, thrushes (Robins), and man they fly fast. I"m sure critics will slam this one but honestly I was quite pleased: I think it is a great macro. One minor thing is that I think you did some post processing on it and you brightened the shadows. There is some noise visible..but nothing that can't be removed. Perhaps you can try next time to use a external flash with you macro shot. Right now I'm experimenting with a small flash unit with my macro shots and I am getting great results. You'll have to diffuse the flashlight though, because otherwise it will be to harsh.. frozenframe wrote in post #16914352 Wow, what a magnificent BIF shot Lukas. You have a feeder that attracts them? It looks like the little feller is eating sunflower seeds. While I don't like those little creepy eight-legged things, that's a great shot of a spider. I just have the 60mm macro, and will not get my hands that close to them. I'll have to get a 180mm to grab shots like that. Medicine Man, why you feel you'll get slammed for that bee shot is unknown to me. It's fantastic. I"d thought I'd add a couple of flower macros, shot yesterday. Taken with my 70D, Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 macro, 430EXII flash. Since I don't have a ring-flash or macro-light setup, I used my Yongnuo 622c to trigger my hand-held flash. I'm not a fan of spiders too, but I like to see them this close! (sorry photo was not made with my 70d..:lol ![]() ---------------

They are really superb. I tried learning from a book and was getting nowhere. I got Laura's videos and within a few hours was making great progress using the software.
