Nice work, getting good BIF's is always a challenge.
The goose seems to have an "eew, I stepped in something!" look that gave me a chuckle.

Nice heron shots, Will. The swans are nice as well. We don't have any swans close by here of which I'm aware.

Thanks Kim ~
Florida has species I would pay money to try and shoot with a camera... well or digitally poach... if I knew what that meant ;)

Cool shot. I quite enjoy watching the air races on TV... Those pilots are nuts!

Went to Alaska on a cruise and this is one of my fav photos.

IMAGE: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-iSiPKVt84go/U_K3u1xuIBI/AAAAAAAASMI/3bAehlbcqQo/s800/IMG_3242.jpg

I think I might have used the 70D's HDR function. sooc jpeg.
Too bad I had some focus issues with some photos, and lack of long lens made taking photos of eagles quite difficult and useless.

edit: take it back, this pic didnt use hdr function. I have another one which I did and it exposed the water and sky, but didnt come out as nice as this.

A small sigh of relief: I just tested the Kenko 1.4X teleconverter on my newly purchased, used (new in the box) 400L f/5.6. While it hunts just a bit, it will certainly work for stationary objects. The initial impression is that it doesn't affect the final image much. The test photos I took with it look just as sharp as the lens on its own. Someone reported that it fouled up their 70D when they used the Kenko, hence my sigh of relief.

Now the wait for UPS to deliver my lens plate from RRS. I totally forgot to order it when I bought the lens and I don't handhold very much. I usually use either my tripod or monopod since I'm not quite as steady as I once was when I was younger. UPS doesn't show up here until pretty late.... almost always after 6PM. We are very close to their local distribution center, ironically, and we are among the last stops on their way "home".

I work Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays (12 hour shifts) so I won't be able to get out to our local nature preserve until either Monday evening, depending on how tired I am or early Tuesday morning. Boo hiss.... ;)

This male spider was in the living room this morning - so I carefully took him outside and put him on the door of the outhouse. Posed for a while, before deciding he had had enough, and is now somewhere underneath the shelf in there. Might lead to problems and bloodshed though, because there is at least one other already in there albeit in residence at the opposite end. If they ever meet, there could be arachnowar!
