Thank you, no filter was used at this time, it was taken during classic blue hour with standard 30s exposure.

Virtually no macro subjects in the garden now (there will be globbies of course) but I spotted a small fly on a holly leaf tonight:

I agree buddy... if an images is exposed properly and ya don't need to crop it [much] then its quite acceptable for printing that one of a kind keeper.

As we we say in the action photog arena "better to have noise than blurr" ;-)a

Pretty good results at that ISO Hokie. Curious to find out what I can get with this body. Took a couple test shots indoors at 6400 and was pretty happy with those.

I need a better backdrop, a tripod and a cleaner table, but otherwise pretty happy about the outcome :)

I think it turned out great.

One thing I've noticed about any product photo, regardless of subject or setup - the hardest part is keeping it clean!

For instance (and these were taken with 70D, so it's on topic), this one was ok...

IMAGE: http://www.hokiealumnus.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/lg-g3-00.jpg

....this one I didn't even notice the dust until the setup was torn down and I didn't care enough to set it back up again. ...but every time I look at it, I want to scream!

IMAGE: http://www.hokiealumnus.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/lg-g3-01.jpg

(More here at another forum I frequent (external link), if you want to see the dusty mess....)

Thanks :) Think your photos turned out well too :)

Yeah, I tried to do some snaps of my OnePlus One phone, but that was a pain. Did some photos with similar setup last saturday too when I was sampling my... liqour cabinet... Not sure if I'm allowed to post the photos here, but they're on my flickr. Taking pics of glass is not easy, even more hard after a few drinks :)

Still getting acquainted with this body. A visit to the NY Public Library on Sunday for the annual Holiday party. Decided to bring the camera along and try out a few snaps...
