The new EF-s 24mm STM is sharp and reasonably priced, but.... I simply can't think I have enough uses for it.... what gear are you folks pondering for the very near future? I am pondering the EF-S 24 STM myself. I wish this was f2 though. I am considering the older Sigma 30 1.4 as well.

I go to concerts in small venue couple times a year and have used my tammy 17-50 non vc in past. Have not been crazy with the focus in that environment. Light at one particular venue is horrendous! Hoping the 24 pancake might provide me with nailing focus a bit better in that spot. I do love my Tammy in most situations however. It would be a bit redundant since I have focal lenght and 2.8 covered but...at that price...might worth be the expense.\

The new EF-s 24mm STM is sharp and reasonably priced, but.... I simply can't think I have enough uses for it.... if Canon came out with an EF-s 17 or 18mm or 20mm STM pancake - 'That' is a reasonable wide angle I would love to keep in my pocket! Might get the 10-18 STM... any other ideas of a lens in the $200-$350 range with AF? what gear are you folks pondering for the very near future? 10-18 stm is a little very reasonable priced gem. If you need UWA lens for 70D, it's obvious choice. I did never regret about that purchase. dmihel's 100 https://www.flickr.com …3/sets/72157650184612528/

Dec 11, 2014 23:25 | #8998 Paul Iddon wrote in post #17306179 Did you hand hold the camera or use a tripod? If you put it on a tripod, you can come to 400 or 800 ISO - it will extend exposure time but would increase quality and resolute the image better. If you follow the two-stop guideline for lenses then it would also likely be an improvement going to f/5.6 Paul. Hi Paul, Canon RP with 24-240mm
