I feel quite nostalgic for my 70D looking through all these images. I'm enjoying the 7DII, but there are a lot of fingerprints all over the LCD ...

Anyway, I've still have a lot of images from earlier in the year to go through and here's another night image from a recent holiday:

I am feeling your pain. I just sold my 70d last evening. Met a wonderful couple at a coffee shop to do the transaction and in explaining the features, teaching how to use the camera, I began to feel a pang of remorse. Driving home I wondered if I'd made a mistake.
I'm planning to either pick up the 7dII, 1dIV or sell my 6d as well and move into a 5dIII for everything.
I will miss the wifi and the touch screen immensely!

I was so happy about lighting, first it was cloudy and dark when i arrived, but these conditions changed in a matter of minutes to almost perfection. Too bad these winter days are that short.

Don't tell the "canon sensor bashers" but there seems to be some nice detail in the shadows and quite a dynamic range.... oh what am I saying, you can't get that with Canon sensors!

Very nice captures Lucas with a wow factor on the dynamic contrast.

Honestly, i was thinking about buying 5dmkIII for myself a lot, but i hate color banding on this camera, 70d is better at this aspect and i would also missed superfast dualAF system and swivel touch screen, which i use a lot. I hope 5dmIV will have same shadow recovery possibilites as D810 and most features from 70D.


For maximazing DR : I set exposure very bright, but always checking if all pixels contain valid color information. Even if histogram shows there are pixels completely blown out, lot of them are still ready to recover. I mostly do several shots around camera´s limits

Trying out the Canon 10-22 with this body. I love how close you can get with this lens. Should have tried stopping down a bit but traffic was busy and was rushing to get shot without people in it! Tried something different on the processing...not sure if it works...comments welcome.

I'm not 100% sure what you're asking. You can't connect to the 70D's wifi?

Once the connection is setup on the iPhone it should save the wifi password and you shouldn't have to enter it again unless you told the iPhone to forget the network.

You might be able to see the wifi password on the camera by looking at the settings. You also need to make sure the iPhone is connected to the 70D rather than your home wifi. If that doesn't help, you might want to start over with the Canon wifi settings. They're a little tricky at times.

Jamganz I for one think it quite beautiful. I'm envious of your lens too.
I just ordered the dinky 10-18mm for the crops.

Thanks MedicineMan....if they were selling the 10-18 at the time, I probably would have picked that one up. Have to say, I am not disappointed with this one. Speaking of dinky...just got the 24mm 2.8 STM in the mail tonight!

Histogram in camera shows info about jpeg preview only, even if you shoot in Raw. After image is feeded to the converter, the Raw histogram may occur very different. The more brightened, saturated and contrast this jpeg preview is generated by the camera, the more is the chance of rgb values clipping appear. In order to avoid such unnecessary histogram blinking i adjusted in-camera picture style settings to slightly negative values. It helped.

Can't say that I was ever tempted by that one. I have the Tammy 17-50 non vc so a 16-28 would have been redundant for me. I looked at the Tokina and the Sigma as other UWA options too. The Canon won out. I would be extremely tempted by the 10-18 if I were in the market.
