Haha! I wish I was way higher in altitude and way far from city lights but deal with what you've got

No lens/ I used an Astro Tech telescope, the AT65 refractor.
Where was easy. After aligning the scope with a Celestron Starsense I just typed in M51 the Whirlpool Galaxy, the mount then slewed to the target, got really close, I then dialed it in center....not an easy target for even much larger rigs but clouds were coming in and M51 was on the opposite side of the sky from the advancing clouds. Started the intervalometer and after an hour of capturing images stacked in DSS then off to Photoshop for the fine tuning. Hey it's not great but I'm not an astrophotographer....just a photographer wanna be

Next job for the 70D is hummingbirds....the el cheapo Neewer remote wireless shutter release came in and it works with the 70D and the off camera flashes, so the hummingbird feeders have been stocked with nectar. Fingers crossed they come my way.
ok cool - so the telescope has a canon mount?
be sure to remove/block the hummingbird perches except the only perch you want near your shots. (Murphy's law states they will go to all perches except the one your lens is pointed at
)
My best shots have been about 4 inches away from the feeder perch because they tend to zing back and forth taking sips, or at least that is my experience. Looking forward to your shots.
