Time to go back to work for a week :( but I did get in one more stacking session with the 70D. Spent most of the day with an Olympus set up trying to get to know it but always time for the 70D-

Finally had a few before the 4th weekend to get the new lens out and take a few shots. No, it's certainly not L-caliber, but it should do well for my purposes. :)

Please 'scuse the dust, I did the best I could in a short time. :bang head

Fully extended.

Plastic mount, but I don't plan on abusing it.

Horray for the new Canon lens caps!

Getting caught up on a month worth of pages. After a month long work related trip to Bangkok, I come back to pages and pages of unbelievable shots! Richard, Paul, MedicineMan, Rosey, Rebelsimon, Jeff and all...great stuff gang! Wow!

I fully intended to keep up with the forum while away but 14+ work hour days and corrupted files on my work laptop prevented me from posting any shots while away. Will try to post some stuff to keep up with the fine work being submitted.

Look forward to your shots :-)

What do you do when it has rained most of the month, wreck dives are being cancelled and the local lakes have the visibility of chocolate milk? Why you play with your action figures...

Since this weekends plans to photograph a shipwreck that sank in 1891 and is on the bottom of Lake Michigan was cancelled...the calendar being cleared, there was no better time to test a couple things for a new product coming out later this year...and no the new product isn't a spearfishing red M&M...

Never did get around to my other shots of Turkey prior to my trip to Bangkok. Here's the Hagia Sofia. A former church turned mosque. Absolutely stunning place. Unfortunately, some construction/renovation going on. Fortunately, some construction/renovation going on!

I could not find a thread on this that I thought I saw in the past, so I thought asking here would be a good idea, for the trusted advice of the great 70D shooters in this thread to answer.

Recently I've been getting followers on Flickr (good thing!) who have thousands and thousands of followers/following (less good thing...). To me it seems obvious there are scripts on Flickr for the biggest of the big - when one person on their list follows someone, they auto-follow. ...but how do you know? The ones with tens of thousands of follows/followers are obvious, but ones with hundreds may not be.

I use Flickr for inspiration, for enjoying great photography and for sharing/feedback. When I look down my feed, I'm happy (and prefer) to see mostly people from this thread but others I've followed through other threads/forums as well. If I follow back what might be bot follows, I'll dilute my feed.

So, the question: Should I feel bad if someone follows me and I don't follow back? If their photos wow me I might do it, but if I'm 'meh' about it, why bother? Will their feelings be hurt? Will it hurt my potential for more exposure? Should I care? Am I way overthinking this? Heh....

What say you, respected 70D community?

Way overthinking - I used to feel obliged to follow in reciprocation, but I don't any more. "life's too short" :-)

Fantastic! And you all know I'm creeped out by creepy crawlies :-) I've used the free Combinez software for the odd stacking adventure I've been on, but this looks far superior. However, I'm pretty poor at manual exposure etc, and very inexperienced with stacking, so that is likely the problem.

Used to have something called the Golden Kiwi when I was a child, don't know how it worked, but some sort of buying a ticket and winning, or not, $$$$$. Lotto came in a while ago now, but exactly when - I will have to Google for :-), and report back. I take a minimal amount ticket most weeks, as who knows ......

Okay first tickets in Lotto sold 1987.

Thanks Paul. We're headed to a swampy buggy lake next off week and hoping for live field macro-wish me luck.

Rose I don't buy lotto tickets, if you win let me know and I'll start AND your Moon is over the top! Just superb!
I've been trying for the Moon now for over a month, always CLOUDS or I'm working. I want to shoot 3 min's of 4K video with the GH4 hooked up to the
OTA then extract every frame (5400) for an extreme stack using DeepSkyStacker...oh and it can't be a full Moon either. With my weather probably won't happen until winter, so I'll just enjoy yours :)
