... Does anybody think that moving from raw to JPGs may be a good idea?
only if storage space is limited... Raw preserves more detail and that's only a good thing

I did this with the XSi, T2i, 60D, and now 70D. But I read here that the 70D handles JPGs much better than previous generations of Canon cameras. Does anybody think that moving from raw to JPGs may be a good idea? I hardly ever shoot in RAW...I don't have the time to edit and clean up every photo I take so I let the camera do a lot of it...also there is a lot more buffer flexibility with jpg. Also the storage requirements are crazy. Cameras: 7D2, S100

So you can "turn off" the dual-pixel sensor's AF? It is a lot to absorb and I had to ask if those tests were for the LCD only - which they were. No, you cannot 'turn off' the dualpixel sensor's AF

No, you cannot 'turn off' the dualpixel sensor's AF That's what I thought (stupid question anyway..). I still don't get what exactly they tested there, haha

A weakness on the 70d is that apparently when you are 'tracking' using the LCD you can only take one shot, as opposed to 'continuous burst' mode.

Oct 11, 2013 08:08 | #1195 Their tests were interesting...honestly, I'd never do continuous shooting using liveview, I find the positioning to be too awkward, I would always use the viewfinder. For single shot and video the AF system works great. Cameras: 7D2, S100

This page was a sneek-peek before they release their Full Review. I don't know if they will have a page comparing the AF system vs the 7D's system... its not a typical test they do - testing view-finder AI Servo and VF tracking... Ah, ok. Thx!

Phoenixkh a mere speck More info | Oct 11, 2013 08:11 | #1197 I started out with a G12 and everything was shot via the LCD.... so "live view". When I got my 60D, I was sort of shocked at how quickly I took to using the viewfinder. That said, the flex zone focusing box you move around the frame is a very nice concept... no focus and recompose. I haven't read the 70D manual (and obviously don't own one... yet) but doesn't the live view on the 70D have flex zone? I honestly have no idea why you would use flex zone unless you weren't behind the camera and needed to set a focus box for remote release..and weren't using the wifi app to set up the focus area either.. Yes, simple. I just hoped that somebody who owns a 70D has already done that.
