Well done Simon, looks like you got a clear night. 150mm still got you a sharp detail shot.

I only do moon shots anymore if I can see lots of stars, meaning its the signal its clear.

Took a break from editing to see how well I could shoot the moon. I'm limited to 150mm, turns out that's a bit of an issue!

The wasps are still feeding on fallen apples...

This is one of them, I got pretty close in with the 70D with Venus 60mm lens @ ISO 200 and 1/200sec, used the ringflash as the apple is below the tree in the shadows.

Playing with a 30 day trial of the new Photoshop Elements 14 released today. The new head-line feature is likely Haze Reduction - which Lightroom CC got (called "Dehaze, I think) -but not Lightroom 6.1.

So for the fun of it I clicked Auto Haze Removal on this moon image. I noted it gave a touch more crater definition vs what I did with mine. Crater definition is desirable so... cool.

I just tried manual adjustment but I don't yet understand the relationship between the "Haze Reduction" slider and the "Sensitivity" slider.

PSE 14 also has the latest ACR 9.1 (albeit stripped down vs Lightroom) but it does essentially have Lightroom's "Basic Panel" and the "Detail Panel" (Sharpening & Noise Reduction).
I own PSE 10 which is fine but 4-5 yrs old now. PSE 14 is a nice - but even the Upgrade $79 USD is too high for my Canadian currency to buy at the moment.

[Addendum] interesting, I also just clicked on the new feature "Auto Shake Reduction" and it gave the image a touch more clarity too... interesting...

I got PSE for Xmas last year...just put on my computer 2 weeks ago. Still haven't touched it. Not sure if it has any of the goodies you're mentioning but....must explore! Nice image, btw! :-)

If you have Lightroom, then I suspect you will not use PSE unless you get a real interest in working with layers or using the advanced content aware features that Lr is mediocre with...
If you have PSE 13, it will have a lot of great features but not the new Dehaze or Shake Reduction

Thanks...yeah...mostly using LR. Will have to play around with it to find out what I'm missing!
