Thanks Jeff. I will try to get close to the trees. I think, I need to get Light room software. I do not see any concept like brushes in dpp and dxo optics 8.

I've had 4 possibly 5 versions of PSE and I'm still a noob! And that's after watching so so many hours of tutorials. I find Lightroom easy by comparison. Its the Layers in PSE that confuse my simple mind :p

I feel better knowing that I am not the only one :-D

Haumoana this evening with the Sigma 10 - 20 f/4 - 5.6. The shingle which was washed out to sea in a huge flood a few weeks ago is gradually being washed back in by the sea. Oh how I love walking here!

Me during a recent Enduro in Ireland

Not much into mountain biking, but that second is a cool shot. And Ireland looks as green as it is fabled to be :-) Love to see some landscapes if you do them :-) My ancestry is mainly Irish, both Eire and Ulster, but never managed to get there yet!

Ditto! Layers do my head in, with the result I rarely use them, except for the very basic layer for curses or something.

I think Lightroom is amazing! Very easy, and yet can do all sorts of things if you want to. I do less and less in PSE11 now. Haven't bothered to upgrade even.

Good luck.

Rose,

Are you still using that Samyang Fisheye? I just ordered one (the 8mm manual focus) for myself as Christmas Present, will be fun to try out :)

Interesting that you ask, as i haven't had it out for a while, but was thinking it needs a walk ☺ today, and actually had my hand on it. Walking with a friend who is not a photog, but very patient. Even so I try not to cause too many delays.

Might take next trip to Haumoana actually.

I do love paying with it, both for the fisheye effect, and sometimes to crop a wide shot if keep focus on the horizon to reduce distortion. There's a thread somewhere here with some awesome shots! If I find it I'll link.

Get it and have fun ☺

Yeah I found the lens sample thread, lots of good info about defishing and panorama and focus settings etc. Also some really nice shots there.

I got it at a Black Friday deal at around 170USD (normally it's on about 250USD here in Sweden) :)

Way to go! Look forward to shots.

As an aside I went to Sweden back in 1974 when I was in my 20s. Dating myself I know. Camped around scandanavIa, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Gernmany, Nethelands, touring by motorbike, stayed in Stockholm. I think only spent two nights then got a ferry to Norway again (I think). Would need to check my map. Loved it, but partly perhaps because some of it reminiscent of NZ.

Unfortunately I didn't have a good camera and photos disappointing quality.

Sounds like a nice trip. Ever been thinking about going back to see what changed and what's the same? :) Been wanting to go to NZ and Australia for a while now, but never had the opportunity yet. Maybe in a few years :)

That's a great deal, and the lens can produce some good quality images. Just set it at f/8 and the focus distance at 3 feet, and everything from about a foot in front of the lens to infinity will be in focus.
