Great stuff on this page everyone! Really considering a 70d. Thinking about trading my 6d for the faster AF and higher fps of the 70d.

The 6D or the 60D??

Thank you John, very kind of you to say so.

The stink bug was found on a car wheel and had to be safely brought to the garden so he could pose for me!

Just joined, got my 70d about a week ago.....looking to see how everyone feels about extenders and the tamron, would it be worth it for me to get one to stretch it out some,or should I consider something in the 400mm range for shooting?...

Welcome to the Forum Pictaker ~

I don't think you will find many folks with a Tamron & Extender duo for feedback.best email Tamron and see which extenders are compatible with your lens - such as Tamron, Kenko, or Sigma.

Typical extenders with Canon lenses are obviously Canon but also Kenko makes a very good 1.4 extender...

I'm very curious to see how the 70D does with the Kenko 1.4 pro extender...

the 60D did not typically fair well...

The 6D or the 60D??

Maybe both. I really love the 6d but recently have had some action shooting trouble that I haven't had before and I got terrible oof shots of my son running the fb. Pretty much every good run he made, I missed focus. Could be the 70-200 lens will have to do some checking. I know I'd be giving up a couple stops in low light, that's the real kicker.

Thanks - helpful summary. I do like the idea of a larger viewfinder. with the wisdom of hindsight I regretted getting the 600D instead of the 60D which I had tried (lent by a friend). At the time I was using a Panasonic Lumix FZ30 which was extremely light and initially the 60D felt heavy and cumbersome.

The focussing system and ability to more easily get birds in flight also is attractive - as after landscape that's probably my most frequent shooting.

Appreciate the comments - just need to think about the $$$$, and how it is best spent spent.

I upgraded from a 600d to the 70d and love it. The additional controls on the body are extremely useful as is the touchscreen, the higher fps, and larger viewfinder. It is noticibly heavier.

Worth the money to me and now I have a backup camera my girlfriend can use so she doesn't pester me when we go somewhere that I want to take photos!

LOL, I just got the thing on the camera today. It was worth it. Focus is silent, no more moving and rotating front element, the whole rig is stupid light all put together. Focus is noticeably slower than my 17-55, but it is smooth and silent. Also has the new pinch style lens cap.

That is silly Will on the shipping. Especially since it is free in the CONUS.
