the good thing about a refurb is that it got special attention for its performance, vs the typical one coming off the assembly line, so to speak

Agreed....I've had wonderful experiences with Canon refurb's (lenses and bodies). Bought my 70D 7 18-135stm during last years BF blowout. Shutter count was a mere 34! Never a performance issue with any of their refurb items.

Walked the dogs at Clive this evening. Weird weather, with stormy skies, and variable wind. Although variable wind is our constant!

Haven't posted anything in a million years. Took these right before my recent work trip to Ethiopia but never had a chance to post. Nothing special or anything that hasn't seen before but... twas exciting for me to see and shoot these, particularly at night.

Head's Up!

There is a bug with the 70D - specifically that it underexposes using ETTL Bounce Flash with a speedlight.

I have been on a thread for this issue for over a month and it is an issue for every 70D.

(There is a work-around, if you use FE Lock - which appears to at least be close to what the normal exposure should be.

Someone posted (Canon's) Chuck Westfall's Facebook page if you would like to ask Canon to fix it. You can use your own words or I have provided some below

This is a firmware issue that should have been addresses and fixed over a year ago... Bounce flash is a common (preferred) technique.

Perhaps it is time to add some comments to the Facebook page of Chuck Westfall.

EXCELLENT !

I will post this on the 70D thread also - it would be amazing if everyone could take a moment and ask him:

As a 70D user - I am wondering when a fix for the ETTL underexposure bounce flash issue will get a fix? Thank-you for your attention.
