Thanks Mike but I can't take credit. Lots of 70D users in this thread came to the conclusion

https://photography-on-the.net …ead.php?t=1442842&page=24

I did prove the issue for myself and yes - it underexposes. A user explained the issue - shipped it to Canon repair. Sent back to him not fixed. Repeated the whole process again with explicit explanation of the issue including sample shots as requested - plus his speedlight - and again it came back not fixed.

It would be helpful if Canon's top brass were politely nudged via the link to take corrective and just action.

I always using +1 FE while using my YN-500 flash. Does it suppose to expose properly without any +FE. Does it take into account color of walls or ceiling we are trying to reflect? It felt like it is working better with average metering mode than evaluative metering mode.

Thanks

Very nice! Will you be selling the 70D? I just picked up a 6D and was working on selling my 70D but have not decided to keep both bodies.

Thanks, all. Yes, it was self gifted and I will be keeping the 70D (and hopefully posting images here regularly with it).

I really labored over the decision of what FF to buy, but in the end decided I wanted to stick with the two systems I have (Canon and Fuji) and wasn't ready to jump into Sony. I wasn't interested in the 5DS or R, so made the choice for the 5DMKIII. Figure I'll use it a few years and wait (hope) to see if Fuji releases a full frame, or what the 5DMKIV brings, if it's ever produced.
