Nice, Richard. I really like the tone and background of this image.

Yesterdays overcast (and today) was so thick it was like dusk all day long. I wish these little guys would come around more when there's good light, but had to make due with what I had. Boosted ISO to 2500, which is way beyond my skills at dealing with in post.

I can hand hold for short periods, and the lens does quite well. These, however, were taken with the lens resting comfortably on my Wimberley gimbal head;-)a

Jeff... Nice job... There is something about your first bird image ...the one you posted on the 13th...that made me scroll back up to view it again. I think it is the 'dreamy' background and excellent color scheme that is drawing my attention.

Thank you. I was lucky the background kind of complimented him!

ISO 2500 looks really good.
I just added DXO Optics for the sole reason of getting DXO Prime.
Some are touting it's NR as the best since sliced bread. Something to
look into, the 30 day trial anyway....they (the 'pundits') say I should be
able to get ISO 6400 with my sony a77ii----if pigs could fly! So we'll see.
My environment is a lot like yours=rain/fog/cold/snow/sleet, and then it gets bad :)

Same old ... Haumoana :-) The shingle is building up, I wonder how long before it meets and forms the shingle bar as it was before.
