Canon Rumors best pick of the yeat?

The 50mm f1.8 STM !

http://www.canonrumors.com …eases-from-canon-in-2015/ (external link)

They improved just about everything from the previous version. While keeping the price the same at around $110 USD

Its likely my most used lens in 2015 despite also getting the 150-600 and 10-18 stm before the 50. On my 70D. There, I kept it relevant ;-)a

Never owned the 15-85...just picked one up...should have tomorrow. Not sure if I'm going to keep it though. The comments I've read from users were enough to tempt me to try it out.

I really like mine, good contrast and colors, and nice range. Only mild hangup is some softness in the corners at the wide end, so thinking of adding a dedicated wide angle.

OK OK OK, I'm studying the 50/1.8 STM.

Here is my first attempt with the 55-250 STM. For what I paid ($119 before tax) I have
to say it's not bad at all, in fact weight wise you get quite a ratio of back and wallet that's
not hurting to image quality. Poof shot with it too and says its going to Fl next week.

So with a Solar storm the Aurora alert showed the possibility of action tonight. I am too far in land for anything substantial but we had some lights. Was able to get this shot. Looking forward to trying this again some time.

Does anyone have a link to a tutorial on how to set up the 70D?

thanks Will. I could have used more light of course, but I guess I'm used to living in the clouds.

While I didn't use his 70D ebook much I certainly found the one for the 600D very useful. I thought that was good value for the price. I do have the 70D ebook, but don't use it much at all.

Love this lens! Have bouts when I don't use it - because I fall in love all over again with another lens :-) but the STM is far superior to the old version.

Haven't posted for a couple of days ..... was raining a couple of days when left the house, and unbelievably for me, felt too tired to take the camera! Did take a few with the Samsung phone, which weren't too bad.

Anyway back to my favourite place. My friend asked if we might have fish and chips for tea at the beach - mind you neither of us get the chips usually. Just fish and a sausage each for the dogs. A bonus today, we were sitting on some concrete blocks, placed as a groyne, and saw some sails, which we though might be people wind surfing at Te Awanga, the next beach along. Next minute we heard engines and these microlights appeared.

Don't like shooting directly into such a high sun, and this was lucky as was trying not to look too long, or have camera directed that way too long.

And of course, now that the shingle is being washed back - some people fishing. They don't seem to be catching too much, but someone had a good sized fish yesterday.
