Got my 55-250mm STM delivered 8 days early... :p :-D

a few test shots from my model-on-hand

Never thought a $1500 L lens would be replaced by a $150 lens...

New Years Eve Swimming Tradition? Not sure where this bloody fruit fly got that into its head - but the sod found the top of my beer and tried to do a length of the Boddington's Beer Baths! Didn't make it - shortly after it went to the sewers via the plug hole!

Dig the water tower shot. Great use of the wide angle on that.

My thoughts exactly. Looking more and more likely to replace the Tamron 70 - 300 which is SO heavy for me.

Olympus M1 MkII, Olympus M5 MkIII: Lenses covering 8 - 300mm
Canon M5: A variety of Canon, Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, prime and zoom lenses, Samyang fisheye, 2 lovely Minolta MD, just for fun a Helios 44-2 58m - and adapters.

What a Start to 2016. After sitting in for midnight I headed out in -2oC to witness the aurora borealis. Second time capturing it and tonight it danced across the sky. AWESOME to see.

Thanks and yes - easy bokeh at the longer focal lengths. Will test for front or back focus later or in the next 2 days to squeeze any extra sharp focus out of it :-P
