Not sure what emotion is being conveyed by the expression. Exposure and focus are good. Two things stick out that could improve the shot. (1) there's a lot of dead space on the left. She's facing the right side. It makes more sense to have more room over there than behind her. (2) Try to work for an uncluttered background in future shots.

A little rim light would be so nice here. As joedlh said, the bg competes for interest here, especially camera right. I wonder what that is - maybe a big screen TV reflecting a window on the opposite side. Of course that could be darkened to obscurity quite easily in PP.
Nice capture of your daughter and her pony.

This was a quick "snapshot" not staged but thought it showed a lot :) Not every shot can be perfectly staged :)

insufferably pedantic. I can live with that.

I'd like to see the background better lit, not that it needs more detail, only that the contrast between the light subject (including white shirt and white toy) and the almost black surroundings is too strong.

Thanks, I actually darkened it quite a bit thinking that it was too much distraction, but I can see your point...

I like the recomposed shot much better, in the original photo she is pretty much square in the middle of the frame. The bright purple reflection is very distracting, perhaps you could turn down the saturation a bit on that colour.

Cropped is much better. Shutter speed a bit low.
