Does a Zeiss M42 fit lens qualify in this thread? It was purchased from a charity shop for £7 or $11.4867. :)

If M42 lenses are accepted in this thread......this was taken with my Zeiss 50mm f2.8, which cost me £7.

Nice shot! I didn't know if m42 was allowed or not, but by definition we posted pics from lenses cheaper than the cheapest available EF or efs lenses so why not?

My only problem with it is that there are already several lens threads dedicated to MF glass... as you can see from my sig, I'm very familiar with them

And it goes without saying that used lenses will always be "cheaper" and since you can't get vintage lenses new, they're mostly relatively cheap. I'd like to think of this thread as the "cheap when new" lens thread, but maybe that's just me.

I totally agree with everything you have said, but the title of the thread covers any lens that was "cheap" when purchased, (which mine were) whether it is new, or used. Perhaps it would have been better to have included "autofocus" in the title, or "none adapted".

But Lucas, all the other lenses have at least one dedicated thread too! In the lens sample forum!

This issue was raised before and Ian (topic starter) said that MF lenses are allowed and as it is his thread it seems to me that he determines what is and what is not allowed. Right? :)
