I just did a shot for a guy who is running for town office. He is going to do a direct mailing of large post cards. Does anyone have any recommendations for sites who do this type of two-sided cards?

Thanks. Here is the photo btw. Is it tilted? I think so :)

It's nice family shot. It is a little tilted, and the perpective is a little off, from shooting into a corner. I'd straighten it and crop as much of the curtain on the left as possible. Shutterfy and Mpix both offer the kind of product you seek.

Here is a 4:5 aspect crop. It's a little tight on the missus, but you get the idea.

Thanks. I checked mpix and shutterfly. Seems they only have 4x8 cards. This guy is looking for a larger card. Any other suggestions out there? Thanks :)

John, I have seen a lot about aspect ratio etc. but know very little about utilizing that way of cropping! I usually just crop by size of the print. How would this affect the print size?

You may have to go to an offset printer that makes brochures. Check your local yellow pages. Study up on CMYK.

I think I'll just give him the photo and let him take it from there! I just told him I'd look into printers, etc. who could do this type of printing. Thanks for your help John.

Well, using the aspect ratio of the intended print size allows you to control the inveitable crop that will occur when get them printed. Many web based print services have a crop tool you can use after you upload to the site. I like to do it myself where I can see more than just the thumbnail they provide.
