Aug 22, 2013 10:59 | #4 I'd be more interested in focus speed and shutter lag. My G12 is very disappointing in that dept. Going up for sale soon, I need something way faster. Also doesn't look like the wifi ap will allow you to control the camera remotely, sounds like a one way street to Facebook etc. Useless to me, I'd like to be able to control the camera from my phone though, like some others offer. Don't see that (yet?) in the description. 40D, 5D3, a bunch of lenses and other things

Aug 22, 2013 11:15 | #6 The description I read said a frame rate that rivals a DSLR and very fast AF. Also the lens is now f1.8/f2.8 so a faster lens. It sounds promising and looks like they are moving in the right direction. I wonder now if these "improvements" will migrate to the next versions of the G1X and the EOS-M. Joe

The specs list these burst rates so it surely beats the 2fps of the G12.

I wondering how readily I'd be able to transfer photos from it to an iPad when not on a WiFi network. Anyone know much about that?

Dang it! I just bought a G15 this past spring. I knew I should have waited. Oh well, either sell the G15 or give it to my daughter and then get the G16 (pending hands on reviews of course).

Good to see that they're continuing the series and making improvements in some areas though. 1Ds Mk II, 10D, G15. 400 2.8 IS L, 100-400 L, 70-200 2.8 IS L, 75-300 EFII, 180 3.5 Macro L, 28-80 EFII, 17-35 2.8 L, 15 Fisheye. Canon DIGIC 6 f/2.8 at 140mm is nice. Not able to control with WIFI... No Flip screen... I hope hope 1 G1x replacement has the f1.8 lens WIFI, flip screen and able to use WIFI to control it. Hmm, I would like to be able to control the camera via an app on my smartphone. That's a downer.

The description of the G16 Wifi features says: The camera can connect directly to both iOS® and Android™ devices which suggests it establishes an ad-hoc network with your iPad or iPhone so that they can receive the images directly.
