Nice shots, the first one looks a little soft, still looks good. What lens were you using?

They both look a bit soft to me. Was any sharpening in post applied? Or, possibly the better question asked -- how did you focus, manually or using AF?

The second pics looks a little overexposed, losing detail in the craters and overall Moon-scape. Both are certainly big, thought! ;)

Focusing was done via live view and manual. First time trying to do it that way, as far as sharpening, cant remember if I did it or not:oops:

Good try.. How did you do the exposure control?

With the moon it's rock solid constant, so you can go to manual mode and optimise things.

Worth taking with tripod, a remote, use the timer and mirror lockup, keep the speed up (1/500th) and take LOTs of shots.. if the atmosphere settles for a moment you'll get your best image..

You should be able to AF on the limb of the moon using the center AF spot only, but I'd switch to manual focus after AF so it doesn't try and muck it up.
