Forgive me if this has been answered, but I have a T4i and just picked up a 1DMk2. I really want this lens and I know it's almost usable on my full frame 1Ds but my question is: Has anyone tried it on a 1.3x crop camera yet? I've searched and have only found a trial on a FF camera. I don't want to get this lens for only use on my T4i.

Thanks!

I don't see why it wouldn't.

I'm sure it would work but my worry is the vignetting.

The 18-35 was designed for APS-C, not APS-H or full frame. On a full frame, it starts to vignette at 28mm. You should have at least that much success on APS-H. Like you, I haven't seen any tests or feedback from people who have mounted it on APS-H. I would think it vignettes somewhere wider than 28mm.

Considering that many full frame users are quite happy it works from 28-35mm, you should be confident that it's even more usable on APS-H.

You could rent it and see how it works. (If you do, post the results!)

I have to get and play around with the 1d2 for a bit to get the hang of it before I try to write a review haha. I am far from pro.

In short, yes, reportedly slight vignetting from 18-20mm.

I came across that after posting this all. Thank you.

Now I have to decide if I should get that in conjunction to the 17-40 I just picked up. I have to figure out if f/1.8 is worth having a lens that only works on like 2.25 of my cameras haha.
