This looks kinda fishy... (external link)

Any thoughts? Is it for real?

Edit: Just realized I posted this in the wrong section of the forum. Oops.

Anything with a serial type number in the post I consider fishy. Also, if they knew this camera they would have contact info because this would sell within hours if this was true.

Yeah I suppose. Looking further into it, it's listed in Baltimore, MD Craigslist but the ebay ad it eventually takes you to says it's in Minnesota.

Another thing that is fishy is there is still 4 days to go on the auction. Why would they post a CL ad today for only $5 more than the auction is currently at? It's bound to go way over $425. Doesn't make sense to me.

2 secs of clicking links to the ebay auction page.
Sure it's $425, if nobody bids over that.
I started my 5d mk 2 for a $1 on ebay :)

I'm cheap, I look for deals on everything I buy... `cuz I'm cheap!

When I bought my 7D I paid a price that most here would not believe, I practically stole it. But even I would run away from this "deal".

Heck, if it's really local, then just go check it out. I certainly wouldn't do this deal over eBay or a forum with this guy but if you can see it in your hands, why not? You might just get lucky and snag a cheap 7D from someone who might not know exactly what they have.

That's just the generic description supplied by ebay itself. Half of them have errors in them and should be taken with a grain of salt.

I suspect it's legit on Ebay. Perhaps the seller originally had it on craigslist and got no bites due to suspicion so put it on Ebay instead, and forgot to remove it from craigslist. It's covered under the buyer protection by Ebay anyway if you pay via Paypal. Best to use your credit card with Paypal for extra protection.

It's at $610 now and I think it will go higher with last second bids.

I still think it's fishy. It's listed on ebay in Minnesota. It was posted on CL in Baltimore, MD. The whole thing just stinks. It's ok though, I've no need for a 7D haha.
