Surprisingly they let me get quite close as they are usually quite skittish

Haha, gotta love a family portrait Paul! Your first image has that major "aww" factor with the chicks hanging out with Mom.
Excellent detail, beautiful surroundings, and very crisp focus in your 2nd image. That one's a real winner! Well done....
