Hannover-Maschsee Lake

Hi guys, I wasn't sure where to put this picture, It was taken in Hannover Germany during my visit, it was sun set and the it was getting a bit darker. The RAW image came out pretty dark at iso100 75mm f/5.0 and 1/160 sec. The raw file contains no grain, after editing the picture it contains ALOT of grain. I fallow Serge Ramelli on youtube and tried of his post processing he did, however it doesn't look like his pictures are coming out grainy at all. Any help and critique would be very much appreciated.

the grains in the pictures are noise.
for lower noise we set low iso. Every picture has some noise and noise are more visible in the shadows . when you try to bring out detais in the shadows by brightening the picture noise shows up. so it all depends how dark are your shadows and how much bright you want to make them in the post processing. The shadows in your picture is too dark and you try to brighten them too much so noise is naturally be more visible.

solution to this problem is use tripod and bracket the exposer , one shot with with good details of highlights and one shot that contains good details of shadows. Use photoshop to digitally blend the two pictures. this method we use for landscapes.

Thank you very much, I figured the noise and grain wouldn't be there with iso at 100, but you are right, the picture is to dark, so it does make sense that the noise comes out when making the picture a bit lighter.
