A few pics from last night, went out to get a couple pics above Reno with the smoke from the Rim fire since it finally cleared up for the first time in weeks to see the stars.

Good captures and composition, was the moon shot thru smoke to produce this color? For some reason the moon shot has a lot of noise.
Really like the others though.

Yeah it was just peaking up and was still driving, didnt have time to stop long enough to get the tripod mounted up, shot high iso on my 5d, cropped, and shot at 200mm

You don't need a high iso for the moon, iso 100 or lower is best for the moon. How did you kill the light dome over reno in post processing?

Used Higher ISO on moon, was shot handheld.

The city was mostly corrected in post.

Brought down city/smoke a little bit and brought out more detail in stars in LR.
All one photo.

I love the 4th picture. What more could one want? A guy, his dog, truck and great night sky.

All are nice.
First one is phenomenal. You need to enlarge and hang it on the wall.
Third one is very sensational.
Good job and you must have a had a lot of fun doing it.
Cheers.
