It's pretty intimidating to post here after viewing CDMOOSE's cute yellow warbler's, but here is my own humble offering.

Frankly folks, I don't know birds for schizzle. LOL

Looked for this one in a Birds of Nova Scotia book and am calling it a Common Yellowthroat (female), but if it is not please correct me.

Any and all comments welcome, tks for looking.

Here's one of it hiding (sort of) on me.

Thank you for your kind comments and I think you are right on with your identification and with a couple of wonderful photos.

Your first image is simply cute as a button John and very well executed....and identified too!
The second image certainly shows how it likes to hide itself, but is still a very nice capture. I think you did very well with both.

Very well done on what from my experience is a high strung, skittish subject. I know where a male is, been trying to get shots of him with no luck. Love that first shot. Second does a great job of showing how they like to hide while still showing the bird though.

Thanks all for the comments.

I was lucky in that I was out early trying to get a sunrise down at the salt marsh and on my way back stopped and went down a bank to see if there were some herons out on the water. Took a break of about 15 minutes and the birds started coming back around me in the bushes up on the bank. This little one was about 6 feet away and this is not much of a crop, was shooting with the Bigma at 500mm.
