Nice! Aidan, could you explain how this is done?

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Thanks all,

I have a cree LED torch but any small torch will do and I made a paper cone (covered in black tape so only a small beam of light exits the hole) that fits on the top of it.

The vase is set on a black towel on a chair and camera set in front and manually focused with the lights on.

I set the shutter for 30secs and experimented with playing the light over and around it with the cone on and off. Here's another one. The secret seems to be to keep the torch moving. Had another do with my driving boots.

Nicely done. This has reminded me how valuable the technique can be.
