Just bought one of these and noticed the autofocus kind of making a clunking sound.

It's been awhile since I last used one of these so maybe someone can chime in here.

Is this normal? The autofocus itself seems to be perfect and accurate. It is quick as well.

Dont worry mine sounds the same when focussing at something less than MFD.

My brand new 135L makes the same sound. I've heard other AF lenses do that as well over the years, I don't think it's an issue.

Hmm, I have had a few 135L's and don't recall them ever sounding exactly like that. I know the clunky type noise at the beginning of the video, but there are times in that video where it sounds like marbles clicking or something which is weird.

It may just be the video/audio though.

When I first got mine I didn't recall hearing that sound but after a year it started doing that. Works fine and is spot on but it is annoying.

The clicking happened to mine too yesterday. It came when the AF was not really focussing and searching forth and back so i think thats normal too.

But heck never noticed that sounds scary
