Did you ever get your Reflection lakes or Bench lake shot you wanted this year? I remember you were really keen on getting a nice sunrise there. I tried about 6 times for sunrise and the light just never came together like I had hoped. I met a guy who has been shooting there for 35 years and he said getting an epic sunrise shot there is way more difficult than it might seem. :D

it is tricky....short of living a half hour away (dream of mine). Unfortunately the towns of Packwood, Elbe and Greenwater aren't very dreamy

Wonderfully done there! Getting my feet wet with this multi-shot, stitching stuff and that sure isn't easy to keep that many shots straight.

Nice result! Did you camp overnight or did you get up to Paradise early enough and hike in the dark for a while? And what software do you use for stitching?

Totally agree on these points. I've been to Rainier probably six or seven times for sunrise and I've never seen the colors I've wanted. I'm not from the area so it's a complete crapshoot planning weather four months in advance :D, but even in my inability to get the shot I want it's an incredibly calming trip. Even with the early mornings!

Yes in this case i slept in my truck at the paradise overnight area after taking these shots. Then started hiking around 4am the next morning.

This was stitched using photoshop cs6

New to the forums (and Seattle), so just seeing this thread. Great photo Speedster! I'm looking forward to going down there in the spring to capture some shots.

Wish it was larger, I really can't see the details I want out of this image.

This! Can you post a link to something larger please?
