Can anyone tell me why women simply HAVE to be difficult. I retired a few weeks ago. My wife asked what I wanted for a retirement present. I told her that a Canon EOS 5D Mark III and an EF 24-70 f/2.8 II would be really nicer. I was kidding; I know she thinks I spend way too much on photo gear all by myself. No way she was going to buy me a camera.

Look what what she came home with yesterday. I don't know whether to s*>t, or go blind! Man, I must be living right!

For those of you unfamiliar with this particular "camera", it is a 2011 Harley-Davidson Electra-Glide UltraClassic Limited. Dark over light metal flake Root Beer finish.

I hear the sync speed on the Harleys is only 1/125. And the lens mount is antiquated as well. Hard to change the shutter speed when in manual mode and the high ISO quality is likewise below par.

Shoulda got the 5D...

Should be able to get enough cash for the bike to buy the 5dIII and the 24-70.2.8 II and have a bunch left over.

Sweet. Better take her (the wife) for some rides! :D

Oh, and that trunk will hold a good amount of camera gear. ;)

+2

Congrats YashicaFX2! I'd say you're in a bit of a quandary here.

Hey, at least you have a fun way to get to some of your "less-formal" shoots.

Just throw your excellent 60D kit in the trunk and tell the wife to hold on as you and Harley-Davidson go to all those great places you never had time to visit before retirement. O, Lucky Man! And don't forget to wave as you pass by all us still-working stiffs.......

Oh, it is very nice. I am not complaining. I may have to sell my 5D and a few lenses for insurance and gas, though.
