What shot do you regret not taking?

I was at the New Jersey shore this past weekend walking along the boardwalk at night. In this particular town there are two pizza places that stay mobbed and a few others that struggle to keep up. As I walked by "3 Brothers" pizza, there were 3 employees standing at the front counter, each with their 3 Brothers tshirts on, each adorned with a 1000 yard stare out towards the boardwalk. No customers, a wide open shot, and I am kicking myself for not taking it. I had my camera out and everything but like a dummy, I choked. It's haunted me all week.

I can even picture the print in my mind, black and white.

So who else can describe the shot haunting you?

oh I have dozens of those haunting shots that got away... if I see an interesting person when I'm out shooting I'll sometimes ask if I can take their portrait. Almost always, like 90% of the time they say yes but even knowing that they'll probably say yes, its still a hard thing to do and I've lost many great chances because I wasn't in the right mood or didn't have the confidence in that moment to ask... great discussion topic btw.

That really was the reason I didn't take the photo. I'm getting back into it after a long hiatus. I am not yet confident with just snapping someone's photo without asking yet at the same time, had I walked up and asked, it would have completely killed the scene.

Two weekends ago there was multi-story building implosion that I wish I shot. Totally slipped my mind to even shoot the event.
