What do you call a strap that only connects to one side of the camera?

Odd question I know but I've seen a couple people using an over the shoulder strap that allows the camera to hang sideways at their hip. I'd like to try one but can't figure out the right name to search for.

Also give any recommendations you've got for a strap you just love.

I thought that might be it but after looking through hundreds of posts everyone was so busy trying to be artistic or abstract that you really couldn't tell what the damn thing does.
