Akoni isn't our first ridgeback. We also have a 3 year old RR names Zaki. He received his champion status when he was just about a year old. We were waiting for him to breed with this amazing livernose our breeder has and we were going to get one of his son's. However the female got lymes, and even though she is fine now, our breeder retired her to be on the safe side. So instead of waiting, we decided to get a cousin of Zaki's instead. Of course 2 days before Akoni was coming home, our breeder calls to let us know she test results back from another one of her dogs and she is a match for Zaki.
