I've got the bug to buy another camera. I've got a Canon 60D so I don't want a dSLR. I want a grab and go camera that can still challenge me when I want it to. I was thinking about a G15 but with the G16 almost here and offering some definite advantages with Digic 6 I'm thinking pay the extra and get the G16. Then there's the G1X to consider. I have a Sony HX9V now but would like something a little larger than that. Thanks for any and all constructive commentary.

I love my G1X but if I had a DSLR,I don't know if it would be my first choice for convenience
it is only pocketable if your jackets have big pockets or you wear cargo pants/shorts

I know it's only one consideration, but if decent high ISO performance is important to you, then the bigger sensor of the G1X is certainly worth the money.

It's obviously too early to tell how good the Digic 6 chip is when it comes to noise handling in the G16, but I do know that the G1X deliver very useable images at ISO 1600, where my venerable G10 faltered at ISO400 and was substantially unusable at 800.

Pocketability? It'd be the G16 every time.

I have the G1X and the G15. If I had to keep just one of the two, it would be the G15.
