First off I hate posts like this one lol, but I'm really contemplating selling all my gear to get other gear. Thinking of selling my T3i, 70-200 f/2.8 mk II, 55-250mm, and 18-55mm to get the 6D and the new Sigma 35mm. I love my 70-200, a lot, and I'm afraid I will never be able to own it again if I sell it, but FF + 35mm photos just look so amazing. Is it worth it for me to make this switch?

Any one have ideas or suggestions? Thanks.

Gear: Yes.

As an owner of a T3i and multiple lens.......I'll be watching this thread.
That's not to say I dont like my T3i but I have also been thinking of upgrading in my case to used 5D II.

If you take a lot of indoor or low light photos it could be worth it. but you might want to rent and try before you buy

no way i'd do that.

lenses are for life, camera bodies come and go.

edit: at least in the digital age.

Once I owned only Rebel and used 70-200 a lot.
After getting FF it is less used lens.
Switching to 50mm every time it is possible. This is my FL.
Keeping lens only because you like it, doesn't seems to be practical at all.

You know, my first response to this thread was "Hang On to that 70-200 lens!!"

I mean, they are excellent lenses if you have a good use for the focal length range!

But then I pondered: my main uses for that lens have been pretty limited: sports shooting, small plane shooting, but for most of my "stuff" I've used other lenses, longer for wildlife and wider for day-to-day street and walk-about stuff.

In fact, over the past 2-3 years I've had to seriously down-size my gear and the 70-200 was among the first to go! My walk-around/street lens it the 24-105, to me it's a great fl range on my 5D, and for longer I've held on to my trusty ol' 100-400. For what I've shot over that span of time I haven't missed the 70-200...

Ok, as Tony didn't do that, I will - Hang On to that 70-200 lens!!

Of course, if you don't use it at all - it's just taking space. But I would never consider to sell such a good glass for the sakes of going FF.
