Il check it out when I am home. I've been trying to resist I have too many lenses but I have a few trips coming where it would be ideal. In a way I feel my 24l on my 60d would yield about the same results but I usually use my 5d

for the stuff I've been shooting no way a 1.6 crop would yield the same results with 24L. unless you like noise :D.

It's a pretty sweet combo but I still want the 35

The 35 IS is sharp, I tested it sharper than Sigma 35 in the border and corner at f/4, f/5.6, however the rendition is kind of cold, cynical

Fuji XE-1, Zeiss ikon, Hasselblad; I love shooting film as a conceptual idea :)

With the specifications on this lens 35L F2 and IS seems like a hell of a lens and now that the price is just $599 well it makes this a bit sweeter to own. Thing is I own the 50MM 1.2L and I can’t seem to take it off my 5D it’s permanently affixed to the camera, decisions decisions….

With the 50L you probably shouldn't even consider the 35mm! It's a 35mm and 85mm put together!! Well not really but close enough :)

I could not find a photo sample forum for this lens. Do you think this lens will grow in popularity with the price drop?

I decided to get one, even though I have the older F2. I wanted the IS. At $850, the lens just wasn't worth it to me. For $599, Adorama got my order.
I don't really need a 3rd 35 mm lens, but I have been waiting for this price drop.

Almost picked this up a week or two ago, but was torn between this and the L. Price was pretty close but now that this version has seen a price drop, will most likely pick this up soon. Yay for price drops.

I got to play with the Canon 35mm f/2.0 IS!

Pros: Nice to have IS. I was able to hold the camera at 1/15 second and still get sharp images.
Cons: Too much vignetting at f/2.0. This produced way more vignetting than my 28mm 1.8.

a tap of a button to fix in LR. 35 f2 IS vignettes less than my 24-70L II but like I said non-issue for me.

Yea, Lightroom can fix the vignetting easily, but I'm not sure how it would look with high ISO under dark conditions. I manually create vignetting with images with unpleasant background anyway :)

Cheers
